I'll stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair met personally to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former twice unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to really want to injure him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

In spite of these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually known for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead criticized ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Opponent

Despite saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

However, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, frequently receiving huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is truly happening.
