The deal estimates the Mercedes team at £4.6 billion – a record for an F1 team – after the McLaren team were valued at £3.5bn in an adjustment to corporate structure in September. The Austrian executive, who holds a 33% stake of the Mercedes F1 operation, would sell a stake in the region of five percent. The 53-year-old will remain as team boss and CEO should the deal proceed. Shareholder Structure Remaining partners in Mercedes F1 are Mercedes-Benz and industrial group Ineos Group, who each also own a third of the enterprise. An official representative stated: "We are providing no official statement on the matter. The governance of Mercedes F1 will remain unaltered, and each shareholder are dedicated to continued achievements of Mercedes-Benz in F1." Financial Growth This arrangement signifies a substantial rise in worth of Mercedes F1 after Ineos acquired its share for £208m in 2022. This surge demonstrates the expansion in market values of Formula 1 outfits recently due to the growing popularity of Formula 1 around the world. This was also seen in the success of the F1 movie starring Brad Pitt, which debuted last summer and earned more than $630 million (£458m) at the box office. It is the actor's top-grossing movie and the most successful sports film ever released. Current Performance The Mercedes team are runner-up in the constructors' championship, behind McLaren Racing, with three races left this season. Mercedes' primary racer British driver George Russell has secured victory in two of the 21 grands prix so far and is in fourth place in the drivers' championship behind McLaren drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, and Red Bull's Max Verstappen. Mercedes secured a record eight straight constructors' championships and seven drivers' titles, six for Lewis Hamilton and one by Nico Rosberg, between 2014 and 2021.
